Day 23 16/02/13

"Lancasters very own Gypsy Kings"

For this photograph i wanted to practice my Street photography skills as i find it really hard to capture other people due to being too scared of what they might say to me, i have learnt this through looking at some of the work of Martin Parr. Through my blog it is important for me to push my self and stretch my skills, even if this does mean that in some situation's some people might tell me too not photograph them.
Here is a picture of a band the regularly play in Lancaster town.

Lee Friedlander was a photographer who often focused on street photography. One of his most famous images is one that he took on the streets in New york of his shadow on a lady walking in front of him.
Even though his images are quite taken to the photograph i have taken in Lancaster his work links in quite well as he was a photographer who focused on the everyday such as streets, cars, storefronts and billboards. His style is "inflected by a sharp wit and sense of humour" which shows on the photograph showing his shadow and reflection.
