Day 22 15/02/13

 "Messy view from above"

The pictures "Rainbow" and "messy view from above" both show i have experimented with different lighting. Throughout the blog i want to experiment with lots of different techniques so that my photography skills can improve.
The photo showing the Rainbow shows how this day the sunlight shone through my window. I was sat in my room when i noticed this Rainbow lighting effect, i had to capture it. All of the colours were so beautiful together which is why i found it so aesthetically pleasing. Seeing this gave me the idea to experiment with lighting which is why on the photograph "messy view from above" i decided to put the flash on. This was the first time on this blog that i had taken a picture with a flash on excluding the photographs taken in studio's.
When seeing the outcome of the photograph i really loved the effect it left. All of the objects have been lit up the way i wanted yet it has not lit up the space around my table. The space around the table looks really dark and shadowy which really shows the contrast between the two, the bright objects that are lit up by the flash and the dark black space around the table.
This photo i took using the flash of my camera reminded me in a way of Martin Parr. Although his work can be considered as "exaggerated" and "grotesque" the use of colour in his photography work is inventive which is what i think links well with my work.
If i was to improve this photograph i think i could have edited it further to portray more of a Martin Parr feel, making the colour and contrasts of this photograph more "garish" and "strange"just like the Propaganda work of Martin Parr himself.
