"Abandoned"
For the last three photographs and this one i decided to explore Austerity in the economic change concept.
I have photographed a modern day high street filled with shops which is where most of the Economic austerity change happens, such as the HMV bag. I took a photograph of this bag as at this moment in time HMV the shop is currently closing down due to economic change. It is really sad to see on the news at the moment how many things are starting to close down due to people not being able to afford to shop there any more. Modernisation of this century is also a reason as people begin to shop online and use other methods of purchasing.
The photograph of the abandoned house is one of my favourites in the blog. Throughout the blog i have really started to stretch my mind set as i look for the unusual rather than the norm, which links in well with the psychogeography side we have been recently studying about. Once over i would have driven past this house with out even thinking about it but noticing this house has made me realise that i am starting to improve my way of thinking and seeing.
When researching i discovered a photographer called Kevin Bauman who has a website on abandoned houses. This photograph is very similar to the 100 abandoned houses project he set up. In this photograph i wanted to capture the whole of the house which is why i took a wide landscape shot similar to Bauman's work.
