Day 29 22/02/12

"1961"

The last picture i took and the picture above called "1961" were taken at my Grandma's house. When doing another project that involved being at there house, i decided to use this opportunity to capture the theme that had been set this week, generation.
The doll which is in the first photo has been with my Grandma for most of her life. In this generation the doll is used as an ornament but once over may have been used as a doll to play with.
I have really enjoyed looking at how things have changed over generation's and this photo captures how over time things become worthless to us. At one time my Grandma would have cared for this doll but now many children of the 21st century don't necessarily want to play with dolls, they might rather care for more modern gadgets such as phones and iPads.
The second picture is a photograph of another photograph of my Grandma and Grandad's wedding days. When i talk to them about this day i get the usual comment that money was short and my Grandma made her own wedding dress. This photograph is in black and white as colour may not have been available then. In my generation things are modernising all of the time it feels strange to understand that once over things that exist now didn't exist back then.
